The UQ Poche Centre brings together Indigenous and health expertise across the University, and works collaboratively with Indigenous community organisations and health providers, on improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Benefits

$7,500 per annum living allowance plus $1,500 per annum in research support.

Requirements

 You’re eligible if you’re:

  • an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
  • assessed by the Graduate School as meeting all conditions for admission to the higher degree by research program.
  • the recipient of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Scholarship
  • studying full-time onshore in Australia
  • your research aligns with the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health research agenda
  • one of your supervisors is an academic from the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health

Selection Process

Students will be selected based on:

  • academic merit
  • strategic alignment of their project with the Poche Centre objectives of improving health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

This will be determined through an interview with the prospective supervisor as part of the application process.
