The purpose of the Award is to provide an opportunity for undergraduate students in the Faculty of Engineering or the School of Built Environment to study at an overseas partner university. This Award will provide a chance for students from all walks of life to experience the cultural and life enrichment of travel during their undergraduate degree.
It is intended that the Award will be awarded to a student undertaking overseas exchange in Term 3, 2025.

$12,000 for one year.
Requirements
- Be an Australian citizen currently residing in Australia.
- Be accepted to undertake a period of study on a UNSW Official Exchange Program at an approved overseas partner university in Term 3, 2025.
- Be enrolled full-time in any undergraduate coursework program in one of the following Faculties or Schools:
- EngineeringSchool of Built Environment
Note: In the case the successful recipient already holds a travel award of the same value associated with exchange in Term 3, 2025, the award will be allocated to the next successful recipient as only one travel award is permitted per exchange.
Selection Process
Each applicant will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate:
- Academic Merit (minimum credit average)
- Leadership skills (school, workplace, or community)
- Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)
- Commitment to UNSW campus life
- A statement outlining the focus of the proposed overseas study, including potential long-term benefits to UNSW and to the broader Australian community, as well as expectations of the personal benefits of this experience.
- Students must be able to demonstrate difficult financial circumstances based on their UAC Equity Scholarship application.
