University of Sydney Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Drugs for the Eradication of Varroa Destructor Mites to Safeguard Honeybees 2025

This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to a Masters by Research student who is undertaking research on the identification of potential drugs for the eradication of Varroa destructor mite to safeguard honeybees infected honeybees.

This Scholarship is funded by Australian Research Council (ARC).

Benefits

The Scholarship will provide a stipend allowance of $32,211 per annum for up to 1.75 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance.

If the recipient converts from a Masters by Research to a PhD, the Scholarship may be converted to a maximum duration of up to 3 years, if approved by the Associate Dean (Research Education), Faculty of Medicine and Health.

Requirements

You must:

• be a domestic student
• be willing to apply for admission, have an offer of admission or being currently enrolled to study full-time in a Masters by Research within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney
• conduct research on the identification of potential drugs for the eradication of Varroa destructor mites.
