University of Queensland International Onshore Merit Scholarship 2025

The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide assistance with tuition fees for high-achieving international onshore students who are commencing a relevant degree program at The University of Queensland in Semester 1 or 2, 2025.

A$5000 - $10,000 tuition fee reduction

Requirements

You're eligible if you:

  • are an international student.
  • have completed your most recent qualification in Australia.
  • have achieved a competitive score as determined by the University among the pool of offer holders for programs in their commencement semester.

And you:

  • have received an unconditional offer to study full-time at UQ commencing Semester 1 or 2, 2025 in an Approved Program. This includes most undergraduate and postgraduate programs with a few exceptions. Check the rules (PDF, 164 KB) to see if your program is approved. 
  • have satisfied the program entry and English language proficiency requirements.
  • will enrol full-time.

And you have not received:

  • received another scholarship, tuition fee reduction or rebate from UQ. 
  • a full scholarship or sponsorship from another organisation (applicants with partial scholarships or sponsorships may be considered).

You don't need to submit an application for this scholarship.

When you apply to study a program at UQ, you're automatically considered for this scholarship if you meet the eligibility criteria. 

What happens next:

We will send you an email if you're offered this scholarship and let you know what date you have to accept the scholarship.

????The Scholarship is a tuition fee reduction of $10,000 for international students who have completed their most recent qualification in Australia.

A $5,000 tuition fee reduction is available for UQ College foundation packaged students.

If you're awarded the scholarship, the A$10,000 tuition fee reduction will be split into 2 x A$5,000 amounts and applied across the first 2 semesters of the program.

UQ College foundation packaged students will receive a reduction after enrolment and prior to the tuition fee due date for the first semester of the program.
