The Indigenous Futures Centre is excited to support the next generation of Indigenous researchers. In addition to offering an attractive top-up scholarship and research support funds, the Centre provides its PhD candidates with training, mentoring and career opportunities.
The first of its kind, the Centre's research program will take an expansive transdisciplinary approach to address Australia's most pressing, persistent, and challenging social research issues.
Our research program conceptually shifts away from deficit-based approaches and modelling, which emphasises 'lack', toward accentuating Indigenous self-determination.
Projects will align with the Centre's three interconnected research themes:
$20,000 per annum; $5000 per annum research support funds.
Your application will be assessed on a competitive basis.
We take into account your:
A working knowledge of Critical Indigenous Studies would be of benefit to someone working on this project.
A background or knowledge of Indigenous Theory and Methodologies is highly desirable.
