University of Newcastle Sydney Sports Masters Program Suite - Future Leaders in Sport Scholarship 2025

This scholarship has been established to support and acknowledge a candidate who is passionate about making an impact in the global sports industry and is undertaking postgraduate study in either the Master of International Sports Business or the Master of Sports Analytics at the University of Newcastle. By contributing toward tuition costs, the scholarship invests in leadership in sport to build the reputation of the Sports Masters Program Suite through excellence in both sport and study.

Benefits

This scholarship provides a maximum benefit of $4500 towards tuition fees for the program. 

Requirements

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you will need to:

• Be commencing study in the Master of International Sports Business or Master of Sports Analytics.
• Be a current or former professional athlete or player at a national or regional level seeking to further your career in leadership and specialist roles within the sports industry.
• Be an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident (including holders of a permanent humanitarian visa and New Zealand citizens with permanent residency).
• Not hold another scholarship for the same program of study.

Selection Process

• Selection is a competitive process and will be based on assessment of the scholarship application and any required supporting documents.
• Selection will be made by a panel which will consist of a minimum of 3 members from Newcastle Business School and Global Institute of Sport.

Application Documents

• A personal statement (approx. 1 A4 page) outlining your academic achievements, career aspirations in the relevant area of study, and how this scholarship would assist you. This statement will cover all scholarships you are submitting for.

• Evidence of your professional sporting career as an elite athlete at a national or regional level.
