University of Melbourne Thomas Ewing Scholarship 2025

The Thomas Ewing Scholarship was established with a gift from Thomas Ewing and is offered to students who are enrolled in graduate research in the department of Infrastructure Engineering. Preference is given to students who are not receiving a scholarship or industry funding for their research project.

Benefits

This scholarship provides a one-off payment of approximately $4800 (depending on the annual income from the gift).

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a research higher degree in the department of Infrastructure Engineering (or its successor)
• Have met the requirements for confirmation of your candidature
• Have an Academic Status of Good Standing.

Selection Process

The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their application. Preference will be given to students whose projects are without grant or industry funding if ranked in the top 50% of applications.

Application Documents

• A personal statement addressing the academic outputs achieved during your candidature, the activities the funds would contribute to and how it will benefit experimental aspects of your research
• An itemised budget
