University of Melbourne Fay Marles Scholarship 2027

The Fay Marles Scholarship is named after former Chancellor Ms Fay Marles in recognition of her strong commitment to social justice and human rights. The scholarship is offered to domestic students who are enrolling in a graduate research degree and are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances.

Benefits

This scholarship provides:

• A living allowance of $39,500 per year pro rata (2026 full-time study rate) for up to 2 years for students undertaking a Master by research degree or up to 3.5 years for students undertaking a Doctoral degree. The living allowance may be indexed annually and includes limited paid sick, maternity and parenting leave.
• A relocation grant of $2000 for students moving from States or Territories other than Victoria or $3000 for students moving from outside Australia.

Requirements

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

• Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen
• Have applied for and meet the requirements for a graduate research degree

Selection Process

• This scholarship is offered to candidates ranked highest by the selection panel based on their application and course entry score.
