Benefits
As a Snow Scholar you will receive:
- up to $30,000 per year in financial support including accommodation and living expenses.

Requirements
You must be in at least one of the priority groups listed below:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander • Living in rural or regional NSW
- Facing financial hardship
- Living with disability
- A caregiver (including sole parents)
- Enrolled in or completed a pathway program
Before applying for a Snow Scholarship, please ensure you also meet the criteria outlined below: •
- You are not already enrolled, and you do not plan to commence an undergraduate degree at the University of Canberra prior to 12 October 2025
- You are eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place for your chosen course.
- You can commit to full-time enrolment (unless you are a caregiver)
- You are able to reside in our on-campus accommodation throughout your studies (unless you are a caregiver or can demonstrate exceptional circumstances),
- You belong to at least one of the priority applicant groups.
You must be a domestic student in one of the following categories:
- an Australian Citizen • a Permanent Resident*
- a Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder (or eligible former holder)
- a Pacific Engagement Visa Holder • a New Zealand Citizen*
- a New Zealand Special Category Visa Holder
*If you are an Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen, you are eligible to apply but you will need to pay tuition fees upfront each teaching period.
Residency Requirement:
You need to show proof of residency in the ACT/Queanbeyan or regional NSW (outside major cities). You will be asked to supply one of the following documents if you are shortlisted:
- Driver's licence
- Recent rates or utility bill
- Lease agreement
- Centrelink letter
- Letter from a school or local authority confirming your address.
UC entry requirements:
- You must meet the entry criteria for your chosen undergraduate course at UC.
- This can include enrolment or completion of the following pathway programs:
- UC Prep o UC Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Foundation Program
- CIT ACT Senior Secondary Certificate Pathway o
- AFE Tertiary Preparation Certificate

- Read through the details and deadlines for all available scholarships on the UC Scholarships website.
- Click on the Apply Now button and complete the scholarships application form before the published deadline. You can only submit one scholarship application each round, but the good news is that the Scholarships Office will make sure that you are assessed for all the scholarships that you fit the criteria for.
- Wait for the Scholarships Office to contact you with an outcome from your application.
You should apply only once through the application portal available on the Scholarships website. Make sure you answer each question in the application form truthfully and to the best of your knowledge at the time of applying. If there are any major changes to your application, you must notify Snow Scholarships Office at [email protected] before the closing date. After this date, applications will be assessed based on the original application. If multiple applications are received only the latest application will be considered.
