UniSC 2026 Kal’owendha Bursary for Undergraduate Students

The Kal’owendha Bursary aims to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and provides financial assistance to offset the costs associated with tertiary study that can have a significant impact on a student's ability to further their education.

Benefits

Each bursary will be valued at $2,500 and is paid to the recipient as equal fortnightly instalments in Study Period 1 of the relevant year. Part-time and full-time recipients are eligible for the full bursary value (pro-rata will not be applied to part-time enrolment).

Requirements

  • Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
  • full-time or part-time continuing student having successfully completed a minimum of 96 units (8 courses)
  • enrolled in any undergraduate program at any UniSC campus
  • minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.0
  • Australian citizen

Selection Process

  • Financial need
  • Hours worked in paid employment or commitment to activities that impact on the time available for the student to study (e.g. compulsory fieldwork placement, significant carer responsibilities) and other equity considerations
  • Academic merit
