The scholarship is a prestigious award, and the recipient should have an outstanding academic record as well as leadership potential and personal attributes suitable for the award.
Must be undertaken on a full-time basis within Australia. Part-time study will only be approved in exceptional circumstances.
The annual scholarship of $36‚000 per annum (2025 rate) tax-free will be awarded to a student for a maximum of 3 years. It is expected that recipients will complete their PhD program in three years; however, the scholarship may be extended beyond the tenure of three years, up to a maximum of 3.5 years, should the recipient experience delays, which are beyond their control. Extensions are not automatically granted – the recipient may apply to the University for an extension.
