The University of Sydney Henry Langley Scholarship 2026

This Scholarship is funded by Henry Langley and has been established to provide financial assistance to a PhD student who is undertaking research in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

Benefits

• The Scholarship will provide a stipend allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend rate (indexed on 1 January each year) for up to 3.5 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance.

Requirements

• Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission or be currently enrolled to study full-time in a PhD within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney.
• Applicants must conduct research in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
• Applicants must not have completed more than four (full-time equivalent) research periods of candidature by the end of Research Period 3, 2026 (30 September).
• Applicants must not hold or have been offered another Higher Degree by Research primary stipend scholarship administered by the University of Sydney at the time of application.
• If a recipient is awarded this Scholarship, the recipient must withdraw their application for Research Training Program (RTP) stipend scholarship funding.

Application Documents

The successful applicant will be awarded the Scholarship on the basis of:

• Academic merit,
• Area of study and research proposal, and
• Previous research experience.

The successful applicant will be awarded the Scholarship on the nomination of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Higher Degree by Research Scholarship Sub-Committee and the Research Education Committee, or their nominated delegate(s).
