Requirements

To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be enrolled in their third year of studies (or, in the case of the exceptional scholarship to be awarded in 2021, their fourth year of studies) at The University of Notre Dame Australia in the School of Medicine, Fremantle, in the year the Scholarship is awarded;
• Be able to demonstrate satisfactory academic achievement throughout their studies in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program;
• Be able to demonstrate the circumstances set out in the Selection Criteria.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The Scholarship is awarded to the applicants who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, best demonstrate through their application and supporting documentation:

• Financial Need;
• Personal qualities and motivation, including personal determination to train and work in the field of neurology;
• Academic merit.

Preference will be given to students from Western Australia and those committing to work in the Western Australia community.

Selection Process

• The Scholarship Selection Committee will comprise of staff from the University and may include representative(s) appointed by the Donor.
• The Scholarship will be advertised on the University website in the year preceding the award of the Scholarship.
• Written applications setting out compliance with the Eligibility Requirements and addressing the Selection Criteria must be made on the application form available from the University website.
• Applications will be submitted to The University of Notre Dame Australia.
• The Selection Committee will interview selected applicants.
• The successful recipient will be notified in writing by the University.
• If in any year there are no eligible students, the Scholarship will not be awarded.
