The University of Notre Dame Australia Noton-Dale Medical Research Scholarship 2026

The Noton-Dale Medical Research Scholarship (Scholarship) has been established by in memory of the late John Richard and Eileen May Noton-Dale. The scholarship aims to provide support to exceptional Higher Degree by Research candidates within the School of Medicine, Fremantle at the University.

The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide financial support and encouragement to students with exceptional research promise who have demonstrated academic excellence, to pursue a career in medical research while undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy at the School of Medicine, Fremantle, at The University of Notre Dame Australia (University).

Benefits

• The value of the Scholarship will be $10,000 per annum, for the duration of the scholarship.

Requirements

To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident;
• Be enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy in the School of Medicine, at the University Fremantle campus.

SELECTION CRITERIA The Scholarship is awarded to the applicant who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, best demonstrates through their application and supporting documentation:

• Academic merit;
• Personal qualities and motivation, and determination to work in medical research context;
• Feasibility, potential impact and relevance of the proposed research project;
• Alignment of the research with the goals and Objects of the University.

Selection Process

• Applications and selection are administered in accordance with the Student Scholarships Procedure.
• Applications must be made via the University website.
• Selection must be undertaken by the Notre Dame Scholarships Selection Committee and prioritise representation from Medicine and Research disciplines.
• Selections will be made based on assessment of the application and any supporting documentation required by sections 4 and 6 n the webpage.
• All applicants will be notified of an outcome via email.
• The University reserves the right not to award the scholarship.
