The Queensland Commitment Scholarship 2025

Formerly known as UQ Link scholarship, this scholarship provides assistance to students who have experienced educational disadvantage as a result of financial hardship and who are undertaking tertiary studies for the first time.

Benefits

$7,000 per year.

Requirements

You're eligible if you are a:

  • citizen of Australia
  • permanent resident of Australia (including humanitarian visas)
  • citizen of New Zealand.

And you: 

  • intend to enrol as a commencing student in any undergraduate program in the year the scholarship is awarded, or after an approved deferral of up to 2 years
  • have not previously studied at a university at bachelor level or higher
  • have demonstrated significant financial disadvantage through achieving maximum points for the ‘Financial Hardship’ category of QTAC’s Educational Access Scheme.

Selection Process

QTAC will consider your application based on the following:

  • you, your parent/guardian, or your partner receive the maximum rate of a means and asset tested Centrelink Income Support Payment; or
  • you participate in The Smith Family Learning for Life Program; or
  • your gross household income is below an institution-determined threshold.

How To Apply

Apply to study at UQ through QTAC and complete the 'Financial Hardship' category within the Educational Access Scheme (EAS).

You will need to provide all required supporting documents and information.
