Research Fellow in Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Monash University 2026

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, this doctoral-level researcher will be involved in Chemical Biology research, exploring the mechanism of drug molecules targeting protein-protein interactions. They will be responsible for investigating and characterizing the dynamic interactions between small molecules and proteins at the molecular level using biophysical techniques (DSF, MS, NMR, alpha-screen). Experience with these and associated techniques is highly desirable. Experience in the organic synthesis of small molecules is also desirable but not essential.

• Base Salary $89,831 - $113,400 + 17% superannuation

Requirements

• a PhD (or nearing completion) in Science, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field

• a developing research profile, with publications in genetics and/or informatics

• proven experience in original research and scholarly activity

• experience in next-generation sequencing data analysis or integrative analysis of multi-dimensional data

• high-level skills in communication, leadership and collaboration

• a developing network of academic, industry and professional partners.
