Education is the key to overcoming disadvantage. The Argent Indigenous Nursing Scholarship was established by Mr Argent in 2020 to support disadvantaged and low-income students of Indigenous Australian background to undertake a Bachelor of Nursing degree at QUT.

Requirements
To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, you must:
- identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Person as defined under Section 5 of the Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Descent Policy
- be commencing or continuing the second or third year of study in NS42 Bachelor of Nursing degree at QUT
- be studying full-time (a minimum of 36 credit points)
- be experiencing financial hardship.
Application Documents
Your application should include the following attachments:
- a copy of your resume / curriculum vitae (CV)
- a copy of your academic record from HiQ site
- proof of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent status
- a written response of up to 1,000 words total, addressing the following application questions:
- provide examples of your academic ability and potential to succeed at university (30%)
- describe your personal attributes that help you succeed at university (e.g., community engagement, career aspirations, interests, drive, ability to overcome adversity) (30%)
- explain how the Argent Indigenous Nursing Scholarship will assist you in achieving your current and future career goals (40%)
- two referee reports that recommend you as likely to succeed in your studies and the contribution you make or could make in your community.
