This includes talented sports and esports athletes who are still developing and progressing in their chosen sport through to high-performance level athletes representing Australia at national and international levels.

You'll receive a scholarship valued at $5,000, paid over two years.
Requirements
To be considered for a Rising Sport Scholarship, you must:
- be an Australian citizen
- be starting a QUT undergraduate or postgraduate degree for the first time or be a continuing QUT student admitted and enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree
- hold a minimum course grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 or above if you are a current student
- be representing either an Australian state or national sporting organisation in a sport recognised by Australian Sports Commission
- submit a sporting curriculum vitae providing an overview of sporting achievements over the past 24 months (including event placing and results)
To be considered for a Rising Sport Scholarship (esports), you must:
- be an Australian citizen
- be starting a QUT undergraduate or postgraduate degree for the first time or be a continuing QUT student admitted and enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree
- be a professional player in the game disciplines of League of Legends, Rocket League, motorsport esport, or cycling esport. Applications from other internationally recognised esports game disciplines may be considered
- be a professional player league in an internationally recognised esports game discipline
- provide your account name, scouting link, rank and results from previous tournaments, contested to verify your level of in-game competitiveness
Application Documents
You'll need to verify selection, results and achievement in your sporting CV. You must provide:
- a cover letter telling us about your background, reasons for application and future sporting goals
- an overview of events competed at in reverse chronological order (e.g. 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, etc.) including placing and results
- any placing or ranking information (esports only)
- copies of your team selection letters (on official letterhead)
- references from your state or national sporting organisation (for sports)
- references from professional esports teams (if applicable)
