The QUT Excellence Scholarship is our premier offering for high achievers. We award more than 130 scholarships annually, worth more than $3.5 million. These scholarships recognise excellence in creative pursuits and signal QUT's intention to attract the best students to the creative arts discipline.

Benefits
You'll receive:
- a scholarship valued at $20,000 each. This scholarship will be paid as a study stipend of $5,000 after the HECS-HELP census date of each semester for the first four semesters of your course ($10,000 per year)
- automatic membership into QUT's College of Excellence.
Requirements
You must:
- be starting university for the first time in 2026
- have not undertaken/commenced any tertiary study, other than studies in special university programs designed for secondary school students (e.g. START QUT)
- have applied for a tertiary place through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) and received a QUT offer in your first preference
- have placed one of the eligible creative arts courses as your first preference on your QTAC application at the time of the main December and main January admissions offer rounds:
You must also be one of the following:
- an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder
- an Australian Permanent Resident, New Zealand citizen, or international student who has completed Year 12 in Australia.
This scholarship is offered in Semester 1, 2026.
For acting you will be considered based on your acting audition.
For animation, visual arts, creative writing, drama, film and screen, and music you will be considered based on your academic and creative excellence during your school studies.
Preference may be given to Indigenous Australian applicants.
If you're interested in a course that isn't eligible for this scholarship, you may be eligible for the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Academic) instead.

- You do not need to complete a scholarship application for the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Creative Arts). All eligible students who complete a QTAC application in line with QTAC key dates with an eligible creative arts QUT course as their first preference will be considered.
