Postdoctoral Research Associate in Wireless Communications at The University of Sydney 2026

The University of Sydney is seeking to appoint two Postdoctoral Research Associates (PDAs) in future intelligent wireless communications. Working closely with our industry partners, these roles will contribute to the research, design and implementation of next?generation intelligent wireless systems that integrate communication, sensing, and computing within a single unified network.

Benefits

• Two full-time fixed term positions: one for 4 years and one for 3 years at Camperdown

• Opportunity to contribute to research for future intelligent wireless communications

• Base Salary Academic Level A $117,936 - $125,896 + 17% superannuation

Requirements

• a PhD in wireless communications, AI, signal processing or a related discipline

• demonstrated research excellence in one or more of: MIMO, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), wireless AI, integrated sensing and communications and wireless system optimisation

• strong mathematical and analytical capabilities

• a record of high-quality publications in reputable international journals

• experience in Wi?Fi protocol design (desirable)

• experience working with and supporting postgraduate research students

• strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines

• excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
