Monash Humanitarian Scholarship 2025

The Monash Humanitarian Scholarship are awarded on equity grounds to humanitarian visa holders, studying at a Monash campus in Australia.  Additional consideration will be given if you have experienced other forms of career disruption due to family/carer responsibilities or educational disadvantage during past studies, such as being a recent refugee, living in a regional or remote area, have a disability or long-term medical condition, or have experienced difficult personal circumstances.

Benefits

Monash will provide:

• a living allowance (stipend), and
• a relocation allowance for awardees who relocate to Victoria from interstate or from overseas.

Requirements

You must be one of the following:

• Australian humanitarian visa holder

You must meet the following criteria:

• meet Monash's competitive scholarship selection process requirements; and
• meet Monash English language proficiency requirements; and
• have had their academic career adversely affected due to equity grounds.

This scholarship is also available to students undertaking Joint Research Awards when Monash University is the home institution.

Selection Process

Monash scholarships are highly competitive and are awarded based on academic excellence, research outputs and prior research experience and equity grounds that have affected previous studies.

How To Apply

Graduate research scholarships applications are submitted at the same time as your course application, unless you are already enrolled.  Whether you are a new applicant or a current student, the myApp Portal is used for both course admission and scholarship applications. You will need to specify in your application that you are applying for the Monash Humanitarian Scholarship and upload the supplementary form.
