Minister for Equality Scholarship for Women- TAFE Non-Traditional Occupations

The Northern Territory's Gender Equality Statement of Commitment recognises improving women's economic security as a key factor in improving gender equality for Territorians. Encouraging women to undertake non-traditional occupations for their gender is one means of increasing women's workforce participation and economic security throughout all stages of life. The Minister for Women's Scholarships- Non-Traditional TAFE is intended to provide financial support to women in the Northern Territory to undertake study and/or training opportunities in non-traditional (male dominated) industries to enhance their employment, economic security and general life outcomes.

Requirements

  • Must be a female or identify as female
  • Must be enrolled in a non-traditional trades course-Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma at CDU TAFE- see eligible courses
  • Must be a current resident of the Northern Territory

Interview Dates and Process

Your written statement must address each of the selection criteria in order to rank in the selection process.

Essential

  • Provide a short summary which includes details of your background, reasons why you are applying for the scholarship, reasons for choosing your area of study and details of your future plans and ambitions, including employment goals
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Northern Territory and an intention to use your skills in this area
  • Demonstrate passion, ability and initiative in your approach to study
  • It is recognised that different people experience inequality or disadvantage differently, influenced by a wide range of factors. Demonstrate a financial, cultural or social disadvantage and how this scholarship will support success in your studies

You can upload relevant documents to support your application (each file must not exceed 2MB).

If you have non-CDU qualifications (from high school or other universities), you are encouraged to submit proof of academic performance to support your application. You do not need to provide us CDU academic transcripts.
