The Northern Territory's Gender Equality Statement of Commitment recognises improving women's economic security as a key factor in improving gender equality for Territorians. Encouraging women to undertake non-traditional occupations for their gender is one means of increasing women's workforce participation and economic security throughout all stages of life. The Minister for Women's Scholarships- Non-Traditional TAFE is intended to provide financial support to women in the Northern Territory to undertake study and/or training opportunities in non-traditional (male dominated) industries to enhance their employment, economic security and general life outcomes.
