Direct payment of $12,000 per year.
Requirements
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be an Australian citizen, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa
- Be a commencing or continuing full-time or part-time student in an Honours or Postgraduate coursework degree at Macquarie University (Note that students undertaking Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma study are not eligible for this scholarship)
- Able to demonstrate academic excellence
- Able to demonstrate financial hardship; Applicants need to be in receipt of Youth Allowance or any other means tested Commonwealth support payment
- Consideration is given to factors including an Indigenous background, capacity to triumph over hardship, carer responsibilities, rural or remote background, long term disability or medical condition, or ongoing effects of trauma and abuse

Applications are available via the UAC Equity Scholarship Application Portal. Macquarie University will be participating in the following Equity Scholarship (ES) Offer Rounds for course commencement in Session 2 2025 and Session 1 2026:
- July Round: Apply by Friday, 11 July 2025, 11:59pm (for Session 2, 2025)
- November Round: Apply by Friday, 14 November 2025, 11:59pm
- December Round: Apply by Tuesday, 09 December 2025, 11:59pm
- January Round: Apply by Thursday 08 January 2026, 11:59pm
- Scholarship places may be exhausted prior to January 2026 offer round. Make sure to submit your application prior to the January round to avoid disappointment.
- Only one application is required for the admission year. The application will remain active and will be considered again in each offer round in the current admissions period.
