The scholarship supports Undergraduate study for students who are holders of a temporary or bridging visa and are seeking asylum in Australia. The Asylum Seeker Fee Waiver Sponsorship is designed to support people seeking asylum who are otherwise unable to access Commonwealth Supported Places or government loan schemes to support their study at university.
The Asylum Seeker Fee Waiver Sponsorship was created in 2016 to support students who are on an asylum seeker visa.

Benefits
- The scholarship covers full tuition fees for any Undergraduate course at Macquarie University. It may be renewed each year subject to satisfactory performance in the course.
Requirements
- Be a holder of a bridging or temporary visa and be currently seeking asylum in Australia.
- Receive a full offer of admission to study an undergraduate degree at Macquarie University.
- Intend to take up the scholarship in the year it is offered.
- Have demonstrated financial need via submission of a UAC Equity Scholarship application.
- Submit a personal statement along with their supporting documentation.
- Provide a letter of reference from someone they have known for at least 12 months.
- Be willing to attend an interview.
