This prestigious scholarship, established by the La Trobe Rural Health School - Violet Vines Marshman Centre for Rural Health Research - in partnership with Bendigo Health, will be awarded to an outstanding candidate undertaking research that addresses critical challenges for Australia's rural health and wellbeing.
This project focuses on examining the impacts of climate change and sustainability issues on healthcare delivery in regional Victoria, particularly within Bendigo Health and the broader Loddon Mallee public health sector.
As an applicant you should have an interest in health, climate change and large-scale systemic change. By collaborating with key stakeholders, this research aims to co-develop a climate and sustainability strategy that enhances operational resilience, reduces environmental impacts, and improves health outcomes. The insights generated will have significant implications for strengthening rural and regional healthcare systems for a sustainable future.
