This scholarship fund was graciously established in 2001 by Dr Roger Riordan AM in memory of Koiki Eddie Mabo. The aim is to provide a scholarship fund that can be used for the purpose of assisting any Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student who is studying in the College of Health Medicine and Wellbeing.
The scholarship will provide an annual benefit of $7,000, payable as installments of $3,500 each semester provided ongoing eligibility criteria are met.
Payments are typically received 2–3 weeks after the semester census date, or 2–3 weeks after you accept your offer if the census date has already passed.
The scholarship is ongoing for the standard duration of the program for which it is awarded (3 - 5 years of study).

Selection is a competitive process and will be based on assessment of the scholarship application and any required supporting documents. The Selection Committee will take into account prior academic achievement, career interests, community leadership, and involvement with extra-curricular activities.
