The Samuel and Eileen Gluyas Fellowship was established in 1980 by a bequest to the University under the will of Samuel Laurie Gluyas of the sum of $150,000, which constitutes the Gluyas Bequest Fund. The recipient of the award shall be known as the "Samuel and Eileen Gluyas Fellow".

Benefits
The value of the scholarship will be determined from time to time, but will usually be the value of a Postgraduate Stipend, plus $4,000 shall be made available to assist with expenses relating to a Fellow's research.
Requirements
- Australian and international students are both encouraged to apply.
- You are or will be a Master of Philosophy or Doctorate student, conducting research in relation to diseases of cattle, breeding of cattle, or general cattle husbandry.
- You are or will be enrolled at JCU.
Selection Process
The Selection Committee will, in the exercise of its absolute discretion, afford consideration to the following criteria:
- Academic merit;
- The character of the candidate for the award; and
- Any other criteria that the Selection Committee deems appropriate, including whether the candidate has, or will receive any other scholarship assistance during their studies.

- A certified copy of your academic record from undergraduate degree;
- Your curriculum vitae;
- A project summary for your MPhil or PhD; and
- A letter of support from your JCU supervisor/s.
