Global Science and Technology Diplomacy Fund (GSTDF) at Macquarie University 2025

This is a collaborative project addressing critical challenges in roll-to-roll green (non-toxic and ecofriendly) manufacturing of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) through a machine learning (ML)-assisted production process, combining innovation with sustainability.

The candidate will be involved in:

• development a pilot prototype of an automated, eco-friendly PSC manufacturing line by adapting slot-die coating to an R2R system and optimising green solvent formulations for high power conversion efficiency
• implement of advanced in-situ characterisation techniques. Prior experience in perovskite fabrication will be beneficial.

Benefits

The scholarship comprises:

• a tuition fee offset/scholarship
• a living allowance stipend.

The value of each stipend scholarship is $39,700 per annum (full time, indexed) for three years.

Requirements

• Domestic and international students.
• A Master’s degree in materials science and engineering or photovoltaics is preferred.
