2025 Flinders University College of Medicine and Public Health Summer Research Scholarship

The Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute (FHMRI) as part of the College of Medicine and Public Health (CMPH) at Flinders

University will be offering Summer Research Scholarships to high-achieving undergraduate students over the summer vacation period of 2025-2026 These scholarships enable recipients to have a 'hands-on' learning experience in a supportive, real-life research environment within FHMRI.

Benefits

The award will be paid in one lump sum payment at the beginning of the award, the scholarships are offered for 4-6 weeks at $250 per week. 

Requirements

Applicants must fulfil all of the following eligibility criteria:

• The applicant must be a current undergraduate student of an Australian University and have successfully completed at least one semester of that degree at the time of application.
• Students already enrolled in an Honours degree, an honours year or a postgraduate coursework degree are ineligible to apply.
• Flinders University Doctor of Medicine students are postgraduate coursework students and are therefore ineligible to apply.
• Students who have previously been awarded a CMPH Summer Research Award/Scholarship are ineligible to apply. 

Selection Process

Selection will be based primarily on academic merit, but strategic benefit to the College will also be considered. Students based in South Australia or the Northern Territory during the academic year may be given preference.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact multiple prospective supervisors, either by email or in person, prior to applying to confirm their availability and willingness to host the student. However, students may only submit one application with one supervisor nominated. Please see
