The Bertalli Family Foundation would like to create a transformational scholarship program for Indigenous nurses to change lives. This will enable aspiring nurses to deliver high quality, culturally appropriate health care services.

Benefits

This scholarship offers a one-off payment of up to $1250.

Requirements

Prospective candidates should ensure they meet all criteria before submitting their application.

To be eligible you must be:

• an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
• an Australian citizen
• enrolled full-time in any of the Bachelor of Nursing degrees through the School of Nursing and Midwifery in Trimester 2 2025
• undertaking training or a placement that provides essential skills contributing to your personal and professional development*.

*This may include a wide range of activities such as specialised training, educational programs, attending conferences, or participating in placements—anything that contributes meaningfully to building essential skills for personal and professional growth.

Conditions

As a scholarship recipient, you must:

• write an introduction statement about your goals for study and what it means to receive the scholarship
• provide a completion statement at the conclusion of your studies
• be open to participating in a reasonable level of engagement with the donor.

Application Documents

As part of the application process, you may also be required to upload current supporting documentation.

Make sure you choose the correct document type when you upload your documents as it will make a difference. If your documents are uploaded into the incorrect type they will not be considered when assessing your application. Remember it is quality, not quantity, which you need to provide. Aim to provide documents which are current, relevant and concise.
