Benefits

• Curtin Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Scholarship package includes, a 3 year (full time equivalent) living allowance, tuition fee offset scholarship and access to research student grants to support your research endeavours. 
• Female Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander recipients may also be eligible for the Bertrond and Edith Donohue Scholarship Endowment, which includes a further $12,500 top up scholarship for a maximum of 3 years. 
• The maximum value of the annual scholarships (base stipend and top up) is approx. $70,000 p.a. with a maximum of 4 years 100% Tuition Fee offset scholarship.
• Recipients may be eligible to apply for the 6 month completion scholarship. 

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply through the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarships Program: 

• Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; and
• meet the eligibly criteria of our higher degree by research courses;

How To Apply

1) If this scholarship opportunity excites you, and your research skills and experience are a good fit for the areas of research offered at Curtin University, you should contact a potential Registered Supervisor, expressing your interest (EOI) to discuss or detail your project ideas. 

2) Your EOI should include your current curriculum vitae, academic transcripts and a summary of your research skills and experience. 

3) If the supervisor is available, and appropriate to support your research journey, they will provide an invitation to apply. 

4) With your invitation to apply, you can now start your admission application.

5) Successful applicants will receive a Curtin offer of admission.

6) With your offer of admission you can request to be considered for this scholarship opportunity by emailing the Graduate Research School (GRS) The GRS will thereafter invite you to a scholarship selection interview, where you can discuss your research and what scholarship support may be required to meet your research goals.
