ANU CIEHF Indigenous PhD Scholarship 2025

The new ARC Centre of Excellence for Indigenous and Environmental Histories and Futures (CIEHF) will set new standards for research and management on Country across Australia. Driven by respectful, authentic co-design, and drawing from diverse cultural, environmental, and historical records, the Centre will work to enhance Land and Sea Country management, reframed by Indigenous knowledges and science. The Centre expects to make a legacy contribution by developing complementary Indigenous and Western knowledge frameworks for modelling environmental, cultural, and historical change in Australia over the last millennium and into the near future.

Each year the School of Culture, History and Language in the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific may offer up to 6 awards known as the CIEHF Indigenous PhD Scholarship. The objective of the Award is to provide support funding for an outstanding Indigenous (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples only) candidate to enable them to pursue a PhD program based in the ANU node of CIEHF, based in the School of Culture, History and Language, College of Asia and the Pacific.
