The McCleary Murchland Adelaide University Laptop Grant assists high-achieving students from rural, regional and remote community or students from a refugee background by providing them with a new laptop to use to undertake their undergraduate studies.
To be eligible for the laptop grant‚ applicants must:
? be an Australian Citizen‚ Permanent Resident of Australia‚ or holders of Permanent Humanitarian Visa, or New Zealand Citizens
? be able to demonstrate that most of their high school attendance (including year 12) was at a rural, regional or remote Australian high school (this does not apply to students from a refugee background)
? have an ATAR of 90 or above (inclusive of any adjustment factor)
? be enrolled full-time in an bachelor degree program
? be commencing a bachelor degree program at Adelaide University for the first time
? submit a written statement.
Applicants are required to provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing:
? status as a student from a rural, regional, and remote community (completion of most of their high school attendance‚ including year 12 at a rural, regional, remote community high school) or status as a refugee.
? reasons for studying their current program and future career goals
? how the laptop grant would benefit them (the need to purchase or upgrade a laptop and obstacles preventing purchase)
? academic achievements (including ATAR)
If‚ in the view of the selection panel‚ no applicant is sufficiently meritorious‚ no award shall be made.
