This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to a PhD student who is undertaking clinical/health services research in Alzheimer’s disease that contributes to either improved healthcare delivery, improved care experiences, and/or improved quality of life for people living with Alzheimer’s disease.
This Scholarship is funded by Equity Trustees Limited via the Mason Foundation. This Scholarship is managed by Sydney Health Partners is a collaboration between five major health services (Nepean Blue Mountains, Northern Sydney, Sydney, and Western Sydney Local Health Districts; and the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (at Westmead)), a world-leading university (the University of Sydney) and 10 affiliated medical research institutes (MRIs). Through the Partnership SHP works to implement evidence-based interventions more quickly, more often, and more consistently into routine clinical care to benefit patients and the wider community.

- The Scholarship will provide a stipend allowance of $41,753 per annum for up to 3.5 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance.
Requirements
You must:
- be a domestic student
- be willing to apply for admission, have an offer of admission or being currently enrolled to study full-time in a PhD student within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney
- conduct clinical/health services research in Alzheimer’s disease that contributes to either improved healthcare delivery, improved care experiences, and/or improved quality of life for people living with Alzheimer’s disease.
Selection Process
- The successful applicant will be awarded the Scholarship on the basis of:
- academic merit,
- research proposal,
- cover letter detailing interest in subject area,
- curriculum vitae, and
- statement of support from supervisor.
- Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview.
- The successful applicant will be awarded the Scholarship on the nomination of the relevant research supervisor(s), or their nominated delegate(s).
