Established by Mrs Marjorie Prest in memory of her late husband, Wilfred Prest, C.B.E., Truby Williams Professor of Economics at the University from 1946 until 1972.
This Fellowship is open to students or graduates of the Faculty of Business and Economics who will undertake postgraduate studies in the field of Economics at an overseas university or research institution.

Benefits
- The net annual income of the fund is to be used to provide one or more fellowships.
- Each fellowship is paid in two instalments: the first upon acceptance of the scholarship and evidence of full-time enrolment at the overseas university or research institution, and the second upon evidence of continued full-time enrolment at the overseas university or research institution.
Requirements
To be considered for this fellowship, you must:
- be completing a degree in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Bachelor, Honours, Master or PhD) in 2025 specialising in Economics or have previously completed a degree from FBE specialising in Economics (Bachelor, Honours, Master or PhD)
- be undertaking or intending to undertake postgraduate studies in Economics at an overseas university or research institution in 2026
- be no more than 27 years of age at the time of the award
The Fellowship may be held concurrently with another award.

- A cover letter summarising your intended overseas studies study and which addresses the eligibility criteria
- Your resume
- A copy of your current Statement of Results (available from the Student Portal) or your Academic Transcript
- An academic reference outlining your potential to undertake the graduate program you are are applying for or which supports your current enrolment in a graduate program in Economics at an overseas university or research institution.
- (Note: An academic reference is a letter from an academic at your university who is familiar with your research and which focuses on your academic ability and suitability for a program of study. The reference letter should be provided on a university letterhead and signed and dated by the academic).
