The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist a student from regional Western Australia who wishes to commence their undergraduate studies with the School of Nursing & Midwifery at The University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle.

Benefits

• A cash Scholarship of $10,000 per annum will be awarded to a commencing student in the School of Nursing & Midwifery for the duration of their three (3) year Bachelor of Nursing undergraduate degree.

Requirements

To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be a School Leaver;
• Have enrolled as a domestic full time student with the School of Nursing & Midwifery, Fremantle;
• Have a permanent home address a distance of at least 160 kilometres from the Perth GPO (measured in a straight line);
• Have been a resident of Western Australia for at least 5 years.

The Scholarship is awarded to the applicant who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, best demonstrates through their application and supporting documentation:

• Personal qualities and motivation, including determination to work in the field of Nursing;
• Community service;
• Academic merit.

Selection Process

• The Scholarship will be advertised on the University website in the year preceding the award of the Scholarship.
• Written applications setting out compliance with the Eligibility Requirements and addressing the Selection Criteria must be made on the application form available from the University website.
• Applications will be submitted to The University of Notre Dame Australia.
• The Selection Committee may interview selected applicants.
• The successful recipient will be notified in writing by the University.
• If in any year there are no eligible students, the Scholarship will not be awarded.
