This scholarship assists a school-leaver with costs associated with accommodation. To be eligible, you must have recently completed secondary school and be accepted for full-time admission to an undergraduate degree at Griffith University.

Benefits

  • Maximum value is $24,000, paid in instalments over a maximum of three years. Instalments of $4,000 are payable in Trimester 1 and Trimester 2 only, each year for a maximum of three years.

Requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen
  • be a commencing student who has recently completed secondary school (within last 2 years) and not previously completed an undergraduate degree at any institution
  • have applied for, and accepted to study, an undergraduate degree at Griffith University commencing in Trimester 1 2026
  • be relocating or need to move away from home in order to undertake an undergraduate degree (preference will be given to students relocating from an Australian rural, regional or remote area)
  • have achieved an ATAR 80.

Selection Process

Griffith University use the following sections of the application to consider you for this scholarship:

Study details

  • Tertiary education history
  • Secondary education history
  • Program preferences
  • Relocation within Australia. Preference will be given to students relocating from an Australian rural, regional or remote area.

Achievements

  • Leadership and community: Include school leadership position/s.
  • Referee details: Provide two referee reports from two different sources:
    • an academic referee—a person qualified to comment on academic studies, preferably a subject coordinator from your secondary school and/or a school principal
    • a character referee—such as a current or past employer, or a person competent to supply a character reference (for example, a person with whom you have undertaken community service or volunteer activities).

Statements

  • Personal statement: In 500 words or less, cover your career goals, community involvement and how this scholarship will benefit you.
  • Challenges statement: In 250 words or less, cover challenges you've faced or overcome.
  • Supporting documentation: You must upload a CV, which includes awards and competitions, any measure of leadership and leadership potential demonstrated in your academic and personal life (including school leadership position/s), and your level and quality of community participation undertaken (including volunteering, work history, sporting and other community activities undertaken in/outside of school).
