2026 Fr Patrick Cunningham Scholarship at The University of Notre Dame Australia

The Fr Patrick Cunningham Scholarship (Scholarship) has been established Fr Patrick Cunningham. The scholarship aims to promote lay studies of the teachings of the Second Vatican Council at the University of Notre Dame Fremantle Campus. The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide financial support and encouragement to commencing undergraduate or postgraduate students enrolled in a Theology program at Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle Campus.

Benefits

• The value of the Scholarship will be up to $25,000, for the duration of the scholarship. $10,000 will be paid to the recipient in the first year of study, and $5,000 for the remaining years of study.

Requirements

To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be commencing studies in a Theology program at the University, Fremantle Campus.

The Scholarship is awarded to the applicant who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, best demonstrates through their application and supporting documentation:

• Personal qualities and motivation in pursuing theological studies aligned to the teachings of Second Vatican Council, including personal determination to contribute to the community through the values and aspirations of the Council in service to the communities of the world.

Selection Process

• Applications and selection are administered in accordance with the Student Scholarships Procedure.
• Applications must be made via the University website.
• Selection must be undertaken by the Notre Dame Scholarships Selection Committee.
• Selections will be made based on assessment of the application and any supporting documentation required by sections 4 and 6 above.
• All applicants will be notified of an outcome via email.
• The University reserves the right not to award the scholarship.
