The Commerce at International House Scholarship was established with a gift from an anonymous donor and is offered to students from regional and remote areas of Australia who are enrolling in the Bachelor of Commerce and live at International House.

Benefits
- The scholarship provides a fee remission to the value of $28,000 towards the cost of residency fees and meals at International House.
- Recipients of the scholarship will automatically be admitted into the Abernethy Scholars Program. This program provides unique opportunities such as guaranteed access to the Faculty’s Career Mentoring Program, invitations to a variety of leadership events hosted by the Faculty and an academic mentoring opportunity with Professor Margaret Abernethy, Sir Douglas Copland Chair of Commerce and former Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics.
Requirements
- Be an Australian citizen from rural or regional Victoria
- Have completed the final two years of school in a rural or regional secondary school, if you are a school leaver
- Apply to commence the Bachelor of Commerce through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC)
- Submit a VTAC Equity Schemes and scholarships application (formerly SEAS) providing evidence of residence in a rural or regional area.
Selection Process
- The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest based on their academic merit, location of secondary school attended, the documented disadvantage associated with your VTAC Equity and scholarship application (formerly SEAS) and information provided by VTAC at the time of selection.
- Preference is given to students who have also indicated on their VTAC Equity and scholarship (formerly SEAS) application that they have experienced financial disadvantage.
