2026 Brian and Ann Dooley Indigenous Scholarship at the University of Melbourne

The Brian and Ann Dooley Indigenous Scholarship is awarded to assist with education, teaching and training costs as well as assist with relocation and/or accommodation costs.
This scholarship will be open to commencing or current Indigenous students, but with a preference for commencing students and students from a remote or rural background.
This scholarship is to support students in the field of oral health and dentistry.

Benefits

• This scholarship provides a living allowance of $10,000 per year for the duration of the course (maximum of 4 years for Doctor of Dental Surgery and maximum of 3 years for Bachelor of Oral Health) paid in half-yearly instalments in April and September.

Requirements

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

• Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by descent, identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and be accepted as such by the community in which you live or have lived
• Have applied for or be enrolled in, the Bachelor of Oral Health or the Doctor of Dental Surgery at the Melbourne Dental School.

Selection Process

• The award is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their overall level of disadvantage. Students from regional or remote areas of Australia are given preference.
