2025 Deakin University Steel for Automotive Applications HDR Scholarship

This project aims to develop a new in-situ test approach to link steel microstructure constituents’ characteristics and their evolution during deformation to fracture mechanisms in forming. This will enable future forming process optimisation to prevent fracture issues and enable widespread application of Baosteel ultra-high strength steel (UHSS) in future electric vehicles (EVs).
